Biography
Clara Bellon
Lyric coloratura soprano
Born on Reunion Island and enriched by her childhood overseas, Clara Bellon quickly developed a passion for lyrical voices and honed her skills under the guidance of leading figures in the opera world, including singers such as P. Ciofi, A. Massis, J.P. Courtis, Y. Beuron, G. Théruel, and P. Petibon, as well as renowned stage directors and vocal coaches.
In 2019, she joined the Lyric Studio of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, the CNSMDP of Paris as a free candidate, and performed in numerous concerts with the orchestra of the Chapelle Musicale de Tournai.
Clara Bellon was a finalist in the Voix des Outre-mer competition, leading to her participation in numerous concerts and festivals (Baie Mahault Festival, Difekako Festival, Bal Blomet, Saint-Merry Church, Cortot Hall in Paris) in 2019 and 2020. Clara Bellon was also awarded the Casodom Prize – Overseas talent, in 2019, by the Minister of Overseas France.
Recognized for “the incredible richness of her luminous timbre,” Clara Bellon has interpreted multiple roles on stage, including “The Fire” (The Child and the Spells – Ravel), “Cunégonde” (Glitter and Be Gay) in Bernstein’s Candide, “Zerlina” in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and “Frasquita” in Bizet’s Carmen.
She is also known for her performances in Offenbach’s repertoire, tackling soprano vocal roles such as “Ciboulette” (Mesdames de la Halle), “Gustave” (Pomme d’Api), and “Gabrielle” (La vie Parisienne).
Her mastery of the coloratura soprano vocal range allows her to take on major roles such as the “doll Olympia” in Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann and especially “The Queen of the Night” in Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, in which she has triumphed on numerous stages (PBA Charleroi, Chantilly, Paris) and even in outdoor settings.
She has also been heard in Boieldieu’s opera The White Lady, recorded in December 2020 at the Rennes Opera and performed in 2022 at the Imperial Theater of Compiègne, the Rennes Opera, and national stages in Quimper, Dunkirk, and Besançon with the orchestra Les Siècles.
She was chosen for tribute concerts to Mady Mesplé at the Pézenas Festival and to Christiane Eda-Pierre at the Paris Bastille National Opera, and more recently at the Montpellier Opera and the Avignon Opera (2023).
